At Whysound, our team consists of many unique and incredibly hard working individuals from the local community in Cache Valley. We work together and meet regularly to have as many minds and perspectives on the direction of our mission!

Our Team

  • Dan Fields / / Owner, Studio Manager, Lead Engineer

    Dan Fields has been performing and studying music for over two decades. He has a degree in music from Utah State University and is currently studying Indian classical music at the Pandit Shivnath Mishra Music Academy. He has been studio manager and lead engineer at Whysound for over five years.

  • Eric LaMalfa / / Owner, Operations and Safety Manager, Talent Buyer

    Eric was Born in Wisconsin and raised on 90’ punk rock in SLC, UT (Club DV8 & Club Stars all ages venues). He studied Jazz Guitar at the U of U. Eric has been writing and playing original Americana/ Folk music for over 30 years. He has been scheduling events and booking at whysound since 2025. Give the old man a chance.

  • Mowgli / / Owner, Talent Buyer, Session Producer

    Mowgli has 16 years of live performance that includes local DIY and national touring experience in over 35 bands. He has been a co-owner of Whysound for 6 years. At Whysound his primary role is event production and promotion. His goal is to facilitate a positive experiences for both musicians and audiences. He wants help musicians connect with broader and more diverse audiences.

  • Jace Allen / / Board Member, CAP Manager, Talent buyer

    Jace Allen has been working in human services for the last decade focusing on quality of life, communication, and promotion of independence. He works with and advocates for adults with disabilities, refugees, and people suffering from substance abuse disorders. Jace uses his love of music, art, and service to engage communities and bring people from different geographic and cultural origins together. Jace currently runs traditional Afghani music jam with local refugees.

  • Wade Evans / / Board Member, Talent buyer

    Wade Evans is a lifelong musician with a history of playing and attending shows at Whysound reaching back to the earliest days of the venue. Having spent time in 40+ countries and having lived in all the west coast states, he has a deep love for Cache Valley, and values healthy, harmonious relations with his community.

  • Tracen Bradshaw / / Board Member, Talent buyer

    Tracen Bradshaw is a multi-instrumentalist and music instructor based out of Logan, UT. Tracen has been a part of the Logan/Whysound community for over a decade playing in many local bands. He has been officially volunteering his time as a community board member and performer since 2025.

We hire third a party security contractor for all shows.

Whysound Records hires licensed security staff to ensure during events to ensure the safety of our patrons and artists. Our partner, 1036 consulting is a 3rd party company from SLC,UT that performs security trainings for whysound staff and voulenteers. We encourage everyone to ask them for help or report safety concerns during any event. Whysound Records also has 24hr camera surveillance.
